The Real Truth About Jesus - You can print tract

The real truth about Jesus with evidence from the Bible and the Quran.

1. Jesus’ Virgin Birth:

“Relate in the book (the story of Mary) when she withdrew from her family to a place in the east.  She placed a screen to screen herself from them; then we sent to her our angel and he appeared before her as a man in all respect.  She said: “ I seek refuge from thee to God Most Gracious: (come not near) if thon dost fear God’ He said: “Mary, I am only a messenger from the Lord to announce to thee the gift of a HOLY SON.”  She said: “How shall I have a son, seeing that no man has touched me, and I am not unchaste? “ He said: “So it will be: thy Lord saith, ‘that is easy for me. And we wish to appoint Him as a sign unto men and a Mercy from us.  It is a matter so decreed.  So she conceived him, and retired with him to a remote place" (Sura 19:16-22).

And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.  And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.  And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.  And the angel said unto her, "Fear not  Mary: for thou has: found favor with God.  And, behold, thou shalt conceive in they womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus" (Luke 1: 26-31).

2. Jesus’ Sinless Life:

The angel said to Mary in the Quran: “I am only a messenger of thy Lord that I may bestow an thee a faultless son" (Sura 19:19).

The word 'faultless' in Arabic (zakkiyya) means that he is totally without sin.

In the New Testament, we can read about the sinless life of Jesus in the following verses:

“He committed no sin," 1Peter 2:22

“He knew no sin," II Corinthians 5:21

“In Him there is no sin," I John 3:5

No other prophet or person was born from a virgin and was without sin except Jesus according to both the Quran and the Bible.

* Adam sinned. “They (Adam and Eve) said, “Our Lord we have wronged our own souls; if thou forgive us not and bestow not upon us they mercy, we shall certainly be lost” (Sura 7:22-23).

* Abraham sinned. “And who, I (Abraham) hope will forgive me my faults on the day of judgment.” Sura 26:82

* Moses sinned. “He prayed: “O my Lord, I have indeed wronged my soul do thou then forgive me so God forgave him for He is the oft forgiving Most Merciful” (Sura 28:16).

Jonah sinned. “Then the big fish did swallow him and he had done acts worthy of blame, Had is not been that he repented and glorified God.

He would certainly have remained inside the fish till the day of resurrection” (Sura 37:142-144).

Muhammad sinned. “ Know, therefore that there is no God but God, and ask forgiveness for thy fault, and for the men and women who believe” (Sura 47:19).

"Verify we have granted thee a manifest victory: that God may forgive thee they faults of the past and those to follow; and guide thee on the straight way” (Sura 48:1-2).

“But (ya Muhammad) seek the forgiveness of God: for God is of; forgiving Most Merciful” (Sura 4:106).

“ Celebrate the praises of thy Lord, and pray for his forgiveness for He is oft returning in Grace and Mercy” (Sura 110:3).

Have we not expanded thee thy breast? And removed from thee thy burden (of sin) the which did gall thy back?” (Sura 94:1-2).

Christ is the only one according to the New Testament and the Quran who was born without sin for we read “The angel said to Mary, do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.  And behold you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a son, and shall call his name Jesus…T hen said Mary unto the angel, how shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God” (Luke 1:30-31; 34:35).

The Son of God in this passage has a spiritual connotation.  For example we say about an Egyptian that he is the son of the Nile or about a Bedouin that he is the son of the desert; thus Christ is the Son of God because he carries the character of God.

3. Jesus’ Miraculous Work:

“and I heal those born blind, and the lepers, and I quicken the dead.  By god’s leave" (Sura 3:49).

4. Jesus’ Ability to Create:

“I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I create for you out of clay as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird, by God’s leave” (Sura 3:49).

“Then will God say O Jesus the Son of Mary, recount my favor to thee and to they mother behold.  I strengthened thee with the Holy Spirit, so that thou didst speak to the people in childhood and in maturity.  Behold! I thought thee the book and wisdom, the Law and the Gospel and behold! Thou makest (in the Arabic language create) out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, By my leave, and thou breathest into it, And it becometh a bird By My Leave, and the lepers, By My Leave.  And behold! Thou bringest forth the dead by My Leave” (Sura 5:113).

5. Jesus is the Word of God:

“Behold!” the angels said: O Mary! God giveth thee gland tiding of A Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the Son of Mary, held in honor in this world and the Hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to God” (Sura 3:45).

6. Jesus spoke As A babe in The Cradle:

“ So peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day that I shall be raised up to life!” (Sura 19:33).

There are three days in the life of Christ, where are they? The day that he was born, that is his birth, the day He died, and the third day is the day of his resurrection.

7. Jesus’ Vicarious Death:

Our Muslim brethren say that the Christians had tampered with the Bible.  If that is the case, then God almighty does not know the future, for he should have known that the Christians and the Jews are going to tamper with His word, so he would not have asked the Muslims, "if thou were in doubt, as to what we have revealed unto thee, then ask the people who had been reading the Book before thee.” That is the Christians and the Jews” (Sura 10:94).

The Apostle Peter concluded by saying, “To Him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins” (Acts 10:43).  Man is a sinner, and sin is contrary to the nature of God who has decreed, “The soul that sinneth, it shall die.” But God, who is rich in Mercy, has demonstrated His love to us, that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.  That is the very reason, for the virgin birth of Christ, his sinless life, death and resurrection as an atonement for our sins.

Muslims, Christians, and Jews have the doctrine of atonement.  The Muslims celebrate the atonement in the Al-Asha, Jews in the Passover, and the Christians in the Resurrection.  In the day of atonement, sacrifices were required as a redemption for the soul.

The Almighty God who made heaven and earth is a just and a loving God, His justice demands punishment, at the same time, God is a loving God and His love demands forgiveness.  If God sent everybody to hell because of their sins that is justice, but where is His love?  And if God sent everybody to Heaven in spite of their sins that is love, but where is His justice?  The question is asked how can God reconcile His love and His justice?  The answer is the Cross.  For on the Cross Christ paid the penalty for our sins, and by doing this He satisfied the Justice of God, and on the Cross God revealed to us His love.  “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

On this basis, Christ became the ultimate sacrifice who has shed His blood as the only atonement for our sins.  Thus the sacrifices that are offered by the Muslims and the Jews were fulfilled by the death and resurrection of Christ.  “The lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29).

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow.  Of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ if Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Phil 2: 9-11).

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).  The Bible also says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
