Why Do We Believe the Bible Is the Word of God?

2.  The second reason why I believe the Bible is exclusively the Word of God because of its perfect unity.

Forty men from all walks of life over the course of 1500 years.  They wrote without contradicting each other.  Some of the writers include kings, peasants, philosophers, fishermen, tax collectors, poets, musician, physicians, teachers, statesmen, lawyers and shepherds. It has been translated into 2200

Language more than any book in existence.

The entire Bible is one book, has one author, the Holy Spirit, and has one purpose the fall of man, and God’s way to redeem him, one theme.  For example, you cannot understand the book of Revelation in the N.T. unless you study the books of Genesis and Daniel in the O.T..  You cannot understand the book of Hebrews in the N.T. unless you study the book of Leviticus in the O.T..

The O.T. and the N.T. are one book one complementing the other.

The apostle Paul wrote in his second letter to Timothy 3:16-17.

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete [mature], thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

And the apostle Peter wrote,

The Holy Spirit empowered the writers to write everything that He dictated to them.  For we read,

The Lord Jesus said

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”  (John 14:26)

For example:

The Holy Spirit led Matthew to write to the Jews telling them that Christ is the fulfillment of all their prophecies. as the Messiah..

Mark speaks about Christ as a servant.

Luke speaks about Christ as the perfect Man.(The Son of Man)

John speaks about Christ as the Son of God.
